There will be several new changes with the Training Calendar and Academy procedures in 2010. Please check the web site and these newsletters as reference.
Starting this month, Lt. Culbreath will have an Open Range date each month for certified personnel at the Firearms Range located at 26026 Conroe Huffsmith. Those interested in making use of this opportunity should contact Corporal Lonny Onishi for specific dates at lonny.onishi@mctx.org. The range will be open from 9am - 11am and 1pm - 3pm. All ICC courses will be scheduled before August of each year. This will allow each deputy who is attempting to enhance his/her Peace Officer Proficiency Certification to have this in place before any budget hearing is scheduled. If you are in need of new uniforms or gear we request that you contact Corporal Bert Ward at bert.ward@mctx.org or Mrs. Ann Young at ann.young@mctx.org to set an appointment to pickup or drop off your uniforms. All females should set your appointment with Mrs. Young. If you have damaged gear after-hours, like a duty belt or weapon holster, please contact dispatch and ask them to call Lt. Culbreath and we will make arrangements to replace the damaged gear. All personnel who have separated employment from the Sheriff's Office MUST return their uniforms to the Quartermaster. Uniforms must be cleaned and pressed when turned into the Quartermaster.

We will no longer use the last for digits of your SSN for training files. If you do not have your PID number please contact the registrar, Dana Haines, at dana.haines@mctx.org for your TCLEOSE PID number. This number is required when you attend a class and when you qualify.

Corporal Shane Albritton
Basic County Corrections

Corporal Albritton has headed up the Jail School for the past couple of years. Just last week Corporal Albritton closed out another 100% pass rate with TCLEOSE. This makes the 6th straight Sheriff's Office Jail School class that has had these unbelievable results that surrounding counties do not come close to matching. Our TCLEOSE rep cannot believe the consistent results. Corporal Albritton has done it again! GREAT JOB!

Don't be THAT GUY who shows up to training without paper, pen, and highlighter.
Don't be THAT GUY who forgets his gun at home on the day of qualification.
Don't be THAT GUY who is late to training and doesn't call the Academy.
Don't be THAT GUY who is a NO show for training.
