Did you know the Lake Ouachita is located in Montgomery County? It was quite comical listening to Chris and a guy we met, Bill, speak of Montgomery County Sheriff Office TX and AR. Here’s how it all unraveled today…
We set out to do our errands (buy food!)… which of course lasted too long and another unhealthy fast food meal was consumed… then on the way back we decided to take a stab at geo caching. The first two were “micro caches” and we failed miserably at those. Couldn’t find them. The third one was a regular cache, of which was located on a friend’s property of the one who made the cache. Success!! Pic below. We all had a slight adrenaline rush going.
We had to get ice but passed a cool old GPW ambulance vehicle at the fire station. We pulled over to take some pics, and guess who comes out to greet us? President Oba… TOTALLY KIDDING! This is a happy story. So, the guy that comes out is the property owner of where the cache was located. Turns out he has a fair amount of time on his hands and owns a huge collection of military vehicles. He invited us over for a tour, and we gratefully accepted. Chris and him hit it off well so I snapped a few. It was awesome. He invited us to join him for fireworks on the 4th, but we have plans with my uncle. He said we can bring any of our friends back in the future and drop by any time the remainder of our visit. Super nice!
This is why I love doing these POTDs so much. You never know what you’ll end up with!!!
Yes, today this stuff happened:
witnessed a beautiful sunrise
went running with Colt (his first run — and he kicked my butt)
got the yaks wet
ate one meal we prepared ourselves
